The Campaign for Healing and Hope

1,000 Gifts for 1,000 Children

Our Story: a foundation for healing and hope

For more than 30 years, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties (CAC) has been the one place in our community where children who have experienced abuse can share their story and begin the journey toward healing.

Children are met with compassion, not judgment; hope, not fear. We bring together law enforcement, social services, medical professionals, and mental health providers to respond to abuse with coordinated care so that children only have to tell their story once, in a setting designed for safety and healing.

When a child comes to cac, they receive support through:

  • Forensic interviews

  • Coordinated medical evaluations

  • Therapy and advocacy services

  • Multidisciplinary coordination of law enforcement, DSS, and clinicians working as one team

  • Telehealth when needed

The need: ensuring every child has a safe place

Record numbers of children are being referred to CAC while at the same time, federal and state support have decreased, and public funding has been significantly reduced. This means we are now serving more children with less guaranteed funding. These shifts underscore why long-term, community driven support is essential so CAC is never dependent on funding sources that change from year to year.

A CAMPAIGN FOR HEALING AND HOPE: ENSURING EVERY CHILD RECEVIED CARE, SUPPORT, AND HEALING

To meet this moment, CAC is launching a $1 Million Campaign for Healing and Hope, a collective investment of 1,000 gifts for the more than 1,000 children who come to CAC every year. Together, these gifts will secure the future of our critical programs, expand our capacity to serve children in crisis, and invest in the people who make healing possible.

This campaign is intentionally separate from our annual giving, which continues to support our day-to-day services. By building a long-term stable funding foundation, CAC can rely less on unpredictable grants and ensure that children always receive the care they need, regardless of shifts in funding.

YOUR INVESTMENT WILL

• Build a stable funding foundation for long term sustainability so CAC is not dependent on year-to-year grants or fluctuating state and federal support.

• Provide therapy and advocacy for children who are beginning their healing journey.

• Reduce wait times so care can begin immediately.

• Sustain and expand Trauma Informed Services.

Give every child the opportunity to reclaim their future.
